What is JEE ?
JEE(Joint Entrance Examination) is a national level entrance exam conducted to fill the various seats under all the bachelor level engineering courses,every year. JEE is an engineering entrance examination conducted for admission to various engineering colleges in India. It is constituted by two different examinations - JEE Main and the JEE Advanced. The exams are of the objective pattern. JEE Advanced is regarded internationally as one of the most challenging undergraduate admission tests.
In 2012, the government-run Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) that earlier conducted the AIEEE, announced the JEE that replaced the AIEEE and IIT-JEE. The JEE-Main, which replaces AIEEE, is for admission to the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and some other colleges designated as "centrally funded technical institutes" (CFTIs) The JEE-Advanced, which replaces IIT-JEE, is for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Only the students selected in JEE Mains are eligible for appearing in JEE Advanced.
JEE MAIN
The National Testing Agency (NTA) will be conducting the Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main) 2019 twice in a year for undergraduate engineering admissions into NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. JEE Main 2019 will be a computer-based test to be held from January 6 to 20 and again from April 6 to 20. Paper I examination will be conducted in two shifts per day whereas Paper II will be held in one shift only. According to the latest notification released by NTA, JEE Main 2019 Paper 2 will be conducted as both computer-based (Mathematics and Aptitude) and pen and paper based test (Drawing). JEE Main applications for the April exam will be available from February 8th to March 7th. There will be no change in the syllabus, exam pattern, fee or language of the exam. The exam date and shift will be assigned randomly to the students and the details mentioned in admit card. NTA has officially taken over JEE Main examination and is responsible for the registration process. While filling the JEE Main application form 2019, the candidates will have to fill in valid personal, academic and contact information. The required application fee also has to be paid by the candidates. Since the examination is now being conducted in online mode, the candidates will also have to select their preferred exam dates and slots along with the centres while filling the JEE Main 2019 application form. JEE Main 2019 will be conducted by NTA in two sessions. For the January session, the examination will be conducted from January 6 to 20, 2019. Another session will be conducted from April 6 to 20 and the registration will commence from February 8 to March 7, 2019.

What is new in JEE Main 2019 Application Form?
- NTA has removed the age limit. That is, candidates who have passed their class 12 in 2017, 2018 or are appearing in 2019 can appear for JEE Main 2019 irrespective of their birth date.
- For the candidates who are not well conversant with the submission of online application, NTA is using the services of Common Services Centre (CSC) to make such candidates well versed with it. There are more than 1.5 lakhs Common Services Centres (CSC) across the country which will provide the desired support to candidates from urban as well as rural areas in online submission of application form and payment of fee through e-wallet. To use this CSC, candidates will have to pay the requisite charges.

What after JEE Main Application Form 2019?

- While filling the application form, the parent's signatures are not required.
Amount Charged for Different Services Provided by CSC
Before filling the JEE Main application form 2019, there are some things which have to be kept ready by the candidates. Documents such as photograph, signature and more have to be scanned and uploaded by the candidates. The following items are supposed to be kept ready for the process of filling the application form of JEE Main 2019:
- Aadhaar Card or Aadhaar Enrollment Number scanned images of passport, voter ID or any valid Govt ID.
- Email ID and Mobile Number
- Scanned images of photograph and signature of the candidate as per given specifications.
- 10th and 12th standard details
- Credit/Debit/Net banking details if the fee is paid online
The candidates should also make sure that while filling the online application form of JEE Main 2019, they have the stable internet connection. To avoid technical glitches, the preferred web browsers are:

The application form of JEE Main 2019 will be available in two sessions from this year onwards. For the January session, registrations will be open from September 1 to 30, 2018. Step 1 – Registration
Firstly, the candidates will have to register for JEE Main 2019. After clicking the “Apply for JEE Main 2019” button, the candidates will have to go ahead and click on “Proceed to Apply Online”. Next, the candidates will have to fill the given details:
- State of Eligibility
- Identification Type (Aadhaar, Student ID, Passport, Ration Card, Bank Account)
- Identification ID
- Name of the Candidate
- Date of Birth
- Gender
- Security Pin
Step 2 – Filling of Online Application Form
Next, the candidates will have to go ahead and fill the JEE Main application form 2019. The following details have to be filled by the candidates. All of the information submitted has to be valid in nature.
- Examination Related Details – The candidates will have to select the paper they will be appearing for, choice of examination centre, date and timing and preferred language medium of the question paper.
- Personal Details – Details such as name of the candidate, father and mother’s name, category, whether they fall under the category of Person with Disability or not. More such details have to be filled by the candidates.
- Contact Details – The address of the candidates has to be filled. According to the guidelines, it is not necessary for the address to match with the Aadhaar card details.
- Details of the Guardian –Information regarding the details of the guardian/parent’s occupation, qualification and annual income has to be submitted
Information regarding Creation of Password
After filling the JEE Main 2019 online application form, the candidates will have to create their password for future logins and also select their choice of security question and the corresponding answer. The following details should be remembered while creating the password:
- The password should have 8 to 13 characters.
- The password should have atleast one upper case alphabet, one lower case alphabet and atleast one numeric value.
- There should be atleast one of the special characters in the selected password - !@#$%^&*_.
The candidates will have to review and submit the JEE Main 2019 application form after selecting the password. The application number will be generated which has to be noted by the candidates since it will be used for future logins.
Step 3 - Uploading of Scanned Documents
Next, the candidates will have to upload their scanned documents in the JEE Main application form 2019. The documents to be uploaded are the candidate’s photograph and signature. To upload the documents, the candidates will have to click on “Upload Scanned Images” tab. The specifications for the scanned documents are provided in the table given below.

Step 4 - Payment of Application Fees
After successfully uploading the scanned documents, the candidates will have to pay the application fees. Payment of the required fees can be done through online or offline mode. However, the last date to fill the JEE Main 2019 application form in online mode only is October 1, 2018. For online mode, the candidates can opt for Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking/e-challan.

Finally, the candidates will have to take 4 print out their acknowledgement page. It has to be noted that the candidates are required to keep the acknowledgement page safely for future use.
How do I check the progress of my JEE Main 2019 Application Form?
The authorities will be providing “Application Form Progress” feature for all candidates on the left corner of the application window. Using this feature, the candidates will be able to check their status from the listed stage of the application process:
- View Application Form
- View Scanned Images
- View Payment Status
A definite amount of time will be allotted by the authorities for correction of the submitted application form of JEE Main 2019. During this time period, the registered candidates will be able to edit most of their submitted information. Payment of fees has to be done to make the corrections. However, there may be some details which will not be open for correction.
Forgot Password in JEE Main Application Form 2019?
- Reset the password by answering the security question selected during registration process.
- Verification code will be sent to the registered mobile number and reset link will be sent to the email id.
- The verification code has to be submitted after which password can be reset.
Forgot JEE Main 2019 Application Number?
- Click on “I cannot access my account?”
- Following that, click on “I forgot my JEE Main application number” button
- The candidates will have to enter details like their name, mother’s name, father’s name, date of birth, state of eligibility and security pin.
- After these steps are fulfilled, the application number will be given back to the candidates.
Statistics of JEE Main Registrations
All of the eligible registered candidates will be able to download their admit card for the entrance examination. The admit card will consist of the details regarding when and where the examination will be conducted along with other information. It is essential for all candidates to produce theadmit card of JEE Main 2019 at the exam centre. Without the exam centre, the candidates will not be allowed to attempt the examination.

Q. In case a transaction fails while paying the fee, what needs to be done?
Ans: If the payment status of the online transaction (by credit/debit card) is not communicated by payment gateway in real time, then fee payment is not completed. In this case, the candidates are required to pay the fees again either through the online transaction or by e-challan and to download the acknowledgement page. The failed transaction amount of credit/debit card is refunded within 7 to 10 days. In case, fee payment is made through e-challan and the fee is not updated on the website, the candidate have to contact the concerned bank/branch for updation of fee. However, such candidates can also send the copy of paid e-challan through e-mail on jeemain@nic.in.
